Description
Sorry, you'll have to full view or download this pic to see it clearly .
About a week ago, I started this mini-project to draw 7 water Pokemon for the forum banner of PokeBeach. (PokeBeach is a great website, especially for Pokemon TCG scans. You can visit the site by clicking here). If you notice, each different generation is represented by at least 1 Pokemon.
Anyways, the banner was sunset-themed, so all the Pokemon have an orange tint. Each Pokemon took an average of 2 hours to finish. The 3D method is not very complicated - it's actually pretty fast (by my standards anyway) and heavily uses the overlay and soft light layer styles.
Lumineon: My favourite illustration, especially since Lumineon is one of my favourite Pokemon designs from DP. Funnily enough, this was the fastest to colour, taking only about an hour.
Staryu: My second-favourite illustration. The shading for the arms is a bit iffy, but I still like the way it turned out.
Starmie: I was a little disappointed this didn’t exactly turn out the way I expected it to, but it wasn’t too bad. Took me about three hours to colour - the longest out of the 7.
Buizel: Argh, I’m awful at drawing 4-legged creatures! They always end up having 3 legs instead! I referenced for this pose, and still it looks a little stiff .
Qwilfish: I’m not sure exactly what kind of expression it has…it's pretty amusing since I always assume Qwilfish looks angry :dohtwo:. This was one of the fastest pics to colour in.
Wingull: I actually thought that Wingull looked pretty darn realistic, even though it looks a little cartoony in its official pic. The feet are a bit dodgy, but I still like this pic.
Horsea: My least favourite illustration. This Pokemon has probably the most boring pose out of the 7, and it does look a little creepy O_o.
P.S. Sorry for the uber-long post!
