I always have a soft spot for Pokemon which have signature attacks - in Cacturne's case, that would be its awesome Needle Arm move. I like Cacturne's overall design by Nintendo...of all the walking cacti I have seen, Cacturne pwns then all. What can you not love about a dark cactus that stalks lonely travellers in the desert ?
Done with Photoshop CS2 in about 6 days (I took a lot of breaks in between, having to work on schoolwork). Illustrating sand was a killer as well...
Awesome pic and I agree that nintendo did a very well job with the pokemon. Awesome shading and good job on the background! ^^ Must FAV! ^^ You take your time doing pictures so great!

I suppose I can see something of a resemblance to my own Cacturne, as you said, mostly with how the head is tilted and how the light source is coming from below. Of course you also took it upon yourself to do a full-body shot as well as add a background, something which I'm usually too lazy to bother with...
All in all, it looks great. Mad props to you for doing Cacturne fanart... this pokémon doesn't get enough attention from most fans, methinks. ^.^

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
