Can't think of a good title for this without dipping into awful puns...

A pop-up card made for a friend who's apparently a fan of fish. I had several wild ideas for a card, including one with a 3D Magikarp, but decided on a more serious design. I maintained a subtle reference to Pokemon, though most people wouldn't catch it unless they were a fan.

The mechanism for this card is very simple, but boggles the mind when first seen. The mechanism twists when opened, and is something you need to see firsthand to understand what I mean. (I've included a still shot of the card as it opens.) The card cover is heavily influenced by Sipho Mabona's amazing koi installations.

That's so cool! I wish I could see an animated gif of the mechanism you wrote about so I could see it in action.

It really is a beautiful card with simple tones and a nice hommage to Pokemon and probably because I just make up stuff, to Pacman as well. ^_^ I'm certain your friend absolutely loved (will love?) this card! You're such a creative friend!
