Can't think of a good title for this without dipping into awful puns...

A pop-up card made for a friend who's apparently a fan of fish. I had several wild ideas for a card, including one with a 3D Magikarp, but decided on a more serious design. I maintained a subtle reference to Pokemon, though most people wouldn't catch it unless they were a fan.

The mechanism for this card is very simple, but boggles the mind when first seen. The mechanism twists when opened, and is something you need to see firsthand to understand what I mean. (I've included a still shot of the card as it opens.) The card cover is heavily influenced by Sipho Mabona's amazing koi installations.

I love this! It really makes me want to try make a pop-up card or other similar papercraft.

It would be cool if one of the lilypads was actually a lotad heh
